What are they?

Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fats that are considered essential for humans. The reason they are called “essential” is that the human body cannot create these fats on its own, therefore they must be obtained through food.

What types of omega-3 fats exist?

There are three main types of omega-3 fats used by the body in various ways:
